Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. Chairperson Joseph Tsai has called on Asian businesses to expand their horizons beyond the United States, citing lingering US-China trade tensions. Speaking at a tech conference in Macau, Tsai criticized policies that undermine global economic bridges, implicitly referencing the TRUMP administration’s trade stance.

"Some governments try to tear down this bridge we’ve built between Asia and the rest of the world," Tsai remarked. He emphasized the potential of intra-Asian trade partnerships and highlighted Europe as "an incredible opportunity" for regional companies.

The e-commerce giant’s shares recently dipped following reports of renewed US scrutiny, underscoring the vulnerability of Asian tech firms to geopolitical headwinds. Tsai’s comments reflect a growing strategic pivot toward diversification in the face of protectionist measures.
